Late Cardiff double ends Men’s 1st Team’s League Cup run

Cwmbran Celtic’s Ardal South League Cup campaign ended at the first round, beaten by two Cardiff Corinthians goals inside the closing quarter of an hour at the Motazone.
For 72 minutes there was nothing between the sides. Then Curtis James Scotto Dabusco found Thierry Ebube Otu, who curled a fine finish beyond Jamie Pring. Conor McNamara added a second on 83, set up by Charlie Weston, and the tie was gone.
Terry Obeng captained the side before making way for Jack Prosser on 82. Sam Smith had come on for Cameron Dean on 66, and Joe Barber replaced Elliott Hewings on 72.
Referee Joseph Gibson showed five yellow cards. Jonathan Invernizzi was booked on 35 and Hewings on 37, with Rudi Griffiths cautioned in stoppage time; for the visitors, Joshua Hobbs went into the book on 55 and Rexh Dushanova after the final whistle.
A crowd of 40 watched at the Motazone.
