We slumped to our 3rd rsuccessive league defeat and the 3 rd time we have
conceded 4 goals to firmly anchor our unwanted position at the bottom of the
league. Their cause was not helped by having to play this “home” game at
Pontypridd because of the ludicrous planning restrictions on using our newly
installed floodlights.
We brought Lewis Watkins back into goal and Tyler Broom returned after a year
out through serious injury. Lido moved swiftly into gear and Lewis Reed
dispossessed Edwards on the right and rattled the bar. We responded with Joe
Gibson latching onto a through ball and shooting left-footed across the goal. A shot
from Dylan Williams was pushed away by the foot of Watkins for a corner but Lido
went ahead in the 13 th minute when a cross from the left was touched on by Jordan
Langley to Liam Griffiths who headed home. Lido continued to press and .. ‘s shot
was saved by Watkins at the 2 nd attempt. It was no surprise that Lido doubled their
lead in the 18 th minute when Williams ran down the right in acres of space and
crossed for Lewis Reed to roll the ball into the net from close range. On the half hour
a cross was headed over the bar. As half-time approached Isaac Powell hit a
powerful shot but keeper Ben Haines was perfectly placed to snatch the ball. On
minutes a cross from the right was poked into his own net at the near post by the
outstretched leg of Lloyd Perkins. On 45 minutes Josh Gibson stole into the six-yard
box to head home a cross by Isaac Powell.

A Celtic shot was straight at Haines. A corner was headed just wide by at the near
post. On 50 minutes Lido were 4-1 ahead. A cross from the left by Jordan Langley
was cooly glided into the net by Williams at the far post. 6 shot straight at the keeper.
…shot over the bar. Brandon Roberts shot wide and Joe Gibson hit a free kick from
20 yards over the bar.
