Cwmbran Celtic vs Barry Town United

Cwmbran Celtic were given a great opportunity to end the champions 27 match unbeaten league run when, in the 32nd minutes, Sylvester was sent off for holding back Tom Meechan and, from the resultant free kick, Tom’s shot took a wicked deflection past keeper Clarke for his 11th goal of the season. Celtic held their own against the 10 men deep into the 2nd half. However, the momentum changed when the league’s leading scorer Kyle McLaggan came off the bench and scored twice, a 75th minute penalty and the winner in the 84th minute, taking his total to 34 league goals.

Celtic gave debuts off the bench to teenage youth players Kyle and Xavier Jones. Lewis Iles was 3rd top scorer in the league with 20 goals (22 in all matches). Tom Meechan was equal top of the assists in the league along with Lee Trundle.
