Abergavenny Town vs Cwmbran Celtic

Celtic took all 3 points in this first of back-to-back local derbies against Abergavenny Town, over the Christmas holidays. Celtic striker Alex Bonthron continued his rich vein of form with a goal after 11 minutes to give his side the lead, a lead they kept to the break at half time.

Abergavenny came out with more purpose in the second half and put Celtic under a lot of pressure. Celtic responded with captain Andrew Larcombe marshalling his defence, ably assisted by Celtic’s Man of the Match Andrew Hewitt. Celtic went on to win the game 3-0 with further goals from Tom Meechan & Dom Connor.

A very satisfying result for Celtic who now move up to 9th place.
