Match Report
We were drawn against Pontypridd in the MG Nathaniel Cup for the 3rd time in the past 6 seasons. They lost the last two games but held their own in this away game to draw 0-0 at the end of normal time. Celtic had given debuts to Luke Edwards (signed from Rogerstone), Finley Hayman (from Taffs Well), Efan Fletcher (from Goytre United), Josh Gibson (from Trethomas), and Tom Berry (from Sifil).
In the penalty shoot out the hosts won 4-2. For Celtic: Andrew Larcombe’s shot was saved, Isaac Powell and Tom Berry scored and Joe Bowen missed. This was Celtic’s 8th successive defeat in the 3 cup competitions.
For the record, manager Mark Dunford has taken 8 of his former team Trethomas Bluebirds with him this season and they have made an inauspicious start having lost both their league games and were knocked out in the 2nd round of the MG Cup, conceding 10 goals in the process.
