Women make it two from two with five-goal win over Penybont

Five different scorers and a second clean sheet in a week at the Motazone.
Cwmbran Celtic Women followed last weekend’s win over Cascade with a 5-0 defeat of Penybont in Adran Trophy Group 3 at the Motazone Arena on Sunday.
Hollie Channing opened the scoring on 22 minutes and Macey Morris made it two on 29 from Gracie Grosvenor’s assist. Fiona Anthony added the third on 52, set up by Cerys Shipley, and Shipley scored the fourth herself on 72 from Morris.
Nia Lian and Abigail Jones came on for Anthony and Georgina Cridland on 66, and Ruby Johnson replaced Megan Waite on 71. Kaitlin Smith, on for Channing on 81, completed the scoring in the sixth minute of stoppage time.
Captain Amie Preston-Roberts kept her second clean sheet in a week. Penybont’s Carys Minton was the only player booked, by referee Joseph Gibson, who was assisted by Mark Cockram and Jeffrey Mitchell.
