Our first team finally broke their duck and registered their first win of the season against 6th placed Aberystwyth Town. Brothers Sam and Isaac Powell notched a goal each with Alex McDowell also scoring in a fine 3-1 victory.
Our Ladies first team registered a 5-0 win away at bottom club Llanelli Town and finished in third place in the Genero Ardran South League. It could have been an even better season for Georgia Schwarz’s team if four key players in her squad hadn’t sustained long term injuries.
Our under 21 team beat Trefelin 3-1 to maintain their unbeaten record. They look certain to end the season as Champions with just a home game against bottom of the table South Gower to play.
The Ladies Development team have played four games trying to catch up with fixtures that were postponed throughout the season. They registered wins against Croesyceiliog and Tondu United whilst drawing with Goytre and losing to likely Champions North Cardiff Cosmos.
The Third Team have also played four games. In the League they have beaten Albion Rovers twice and drawn with top of the League Caerleon. In the Newport & District League Senior Bowl Semi-final they lost 3-2 to Newport Corinthians.
Our Under 18s have also been busy catching up with games and played 5 games in the last two weeks. They have recorded wins against Blaenavon Blues, Newport Corinthians and Caerleon whilst losing to Undy and Chepstow.
The over 40s Vets have played only one game – losing 6-3 away to Afan Lido
On the junior front our under 16 Yellows beat Rogerstone Rangers 3-2 in the BGCW Federation Cup and also registered a 8-1 victory against our under 16 Blues. The Blues also lost a high scoring game against Fairfield United 6-4
Our Girls under 14s team recorded a fine 5-2 win against Llanyrafon Clarets.
