The club is sad to report the passing of Paul Hughes, aged 73. Paul was a great servant to the club. His long association began when his sons, Nick and Simon joined the club in the 1990s. Paul was involved, alongside John Stockwell and Stan Watts, with the under 16 side which achieved the unrivalled feat of winning the Torfaen and Gwent under 16 league and cup titles. He then went on to manage the club’s Gwent County under 18 team as well as assisting with his son Simon’s team from the under 12s through to the under18s. Paul then moved into senior football and managed the club’s 3rd and 4th teams in the early 2000s.
His contribution to the club over many years is much appreciated.
