Cwmbran Celtic Ladies vs Llantwit Fardre

Match Report

We lined up in the Bute Energy Welsh Women’s Cup round 2 against Division 1 side Llantwit Fardre at Llantarnam School. The visitors  were on a run of 8 games without defeat. We gave Alex Cridland a start in goal and we took a 2-0 lead in the 1^st half with goals in the 7^th minute by Casey Daniels and 39^th minute by Cerys Shipley, both from assists by Hollie Channing.

In the 2^nd half we scored 2 more goals – another for Cerys Shipley on 47 minutes and on 52 minutes by Georgie Cridland which was a 3^rd assist by Hollie Channing and her 5^th assist in this cup competition. Carys Woodward pulled a goal back for Llantwit in the 55^th minute but Fiona Anthony made the score 5-1 in the 82^nd minute with her 9^th goal of the season.

We gave first outings of the season to substitutes Sian Anthony and 17-year-old Nevaeh Cole for whom it was the youngster’s debut after having played 8 games for our Development team since her move from Pontypridd at the start of the season.
