The Reserves were three down inside a quarter of an hour at Abercarn Welfare Ground and could not recover it.
Kieran Vaughan opened the scoring on 5 and Jordan Watts made it two on 7, both set up by Cole Winstone. Callum Chivers added the third on 13, Watts turning provider.
Celtic changed it at the break, Jake Watkins coming on for Rheuben Morgan-Wood, and Jack Shepard replaced Tobias Williams-Dunne on 62. The goal came on 70, captain Evan Prosser setting up Gary Phillips.
Abercarn restored the margin within four minutes: Cole Winstone on 73, then Kieran Vaughan for his second on 74.
